The Idea: What if we gave new college grads a two-year exemption on their state income tax? Certainly, there would be a cost to this, but it could potentially be offset by the growth in the number of students who choose to stay in Iowa after graduation. We need bold ideas to help grow our population with the “brightest” individuals. This concept may not cost as much as we think, but it might create a really positive perception about “staying in Iowa.” >
